Chia Seeds, Fighting the Fight
It’s amazing to think one little seed can be so powerful. The Chia seed is just visually plain and simple, but it’s what inside that can make all the difference. I talk constantly about inflammation reduction and oxidative stress. 2 key factors truly affecting your aging process. Chia seeds are one dietary additive readily available and fairly inexpensive you can add into most meals for support of many of your bodies organs. Chia seeds are high in Omega 3s, know to help protect your eyes from a variety of retinal diseases. Yes, our eyes age too! Eyes not only age from light exposure but from stress and inflammation like the rest of our body. Which is why I always stress total body wellness. Treat the root, not the problem.
Other sources of Omega 3’s good for your body are: Salmon, Trout, Mackerel, Calamari and Sardines. Always, source your seafood from ethical and wild sources when possible and if you have any heavy metal toxicity issues or autoimmune please check the lists of which fish are best for you. For instance, most of these I mention I can’t eat because I do have an autoimmune. However, I go for the vegetarian options here: walnuts, flax seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and fortified eggs.
